Anxiety, Stress & Depression
Millions of Americans suffer with emotional challenges on a daily basis. The ADAA (Anxiety & Depression Association of America) estimates that currently 40 million adults in the United States experience some form of anxiety disorder. That’s 18% of the population. [Link]
The DBSA (Depression & Bi-Polar Support Alliance) reports that major depressive disorders affect approximately 14.8 million American adults—or about 6.7 percent of the U.S. population age 18 and older—in a given year. [Link]
The American Psychological Association reports survey results showing adults continue to report high levels of stress, and many state that their stress has increased over the past year. Seventy-five percent of adults reported experiencing moderate to high levels of stress in the past month, and nearly half reported that their stress has increased in the past year. [Link]
These statistics are a true cause for concern. While the figures presented are estimates and are based partially on those people who have been diagnosed, the true number potentially could be much higher.
At Above & Beyond Acupuncture, our practitioners specialize in treating patients experiencing anxiety, stress and/or depression. Our services are often combined with Western medicine—acting as an adjunct for patients seeing therapists, psychologists or psychiatrists.
We provide a holistic, natural and well-balanced approach by designing detailed treatment plans that are tailored for the individual. A combination of alternative therapies, including acupuncture, herbs, cupping, nutritional guidance, massage therapy and lifestyle coaching, are used to help provide emotional relief while focusing on the root cause of the issue.
“At times our own light goes out and is rekindled by a spark from another person. Each of us has cause to think with deep gratitude of those who have lighted the flame within us.”
– Albert Schweitzer
